What Speed Reading is Not

During my research I also learned alot about what speed reading is not.

Speed reading is not skimming although skimming is a technique that allows you to familiarize yourself with a text.

Speed reading is not a magical art.  We all have the ability to be speed readers.

Speed reading is not the ability to read war and peace in 20 minutes.  Even though Andy Warhol's quote was quite funny.  It was, "I read War and Peace in 20 minutes.  It was about Russia." 

Speed Reading Is

A skill that anyone can learn.

The ability to see and read groups of words during each eye fixation.

Enhanced by our familiarity with the text we are reading.

Beneficial to those who already read well and have a good vocabulary.
